The JMRA Hall of Fame – Inductee #1

Here at Joe Montana’s Right Arm, we strive to bring you the best in football. Since it’s the end of the year (and for that matter, the end of the decade), we figured to go out of our way to build a Hall of Fame for our trusted (well, not really) blog.
Who fits the bill? [...]

Video of the Day: Joe vs. The Volcano

As we sit hours away from Favre vs. the Packers, it conjures up memories from 1994 of the Joe Montana versus Steve Young and the 49ers battle in Kansas City.
Here is a great clip from the America’s Game documentary on the 1994 49ers followed by a recap of the action from George Michael’s Sports Machine.

Video of the Day: Sir Joseph of Montana

Since it is his birthday. You knew this was coming.

Happy Birthday King!!!!!!!

It was on this day back in 1953 that Joseph Clifford Montana Jr. jumped into our lives. Little did we know that he would win four Super Bowls, two MVPs and have a blog named after his golden right arm.
In other Montana news, his son Nick committed to play quarterback at the University of Washington. However, [...]

Little Known Former QB Becomes Coach

The namesake for this site is in the news. Joe Montana recently signed on to be an assistant football coach at Oaks Christian High School in California. The drawing card for Joe? His son Nick plays quarterback for the school, which normally doesn’t allow fathers to coach their sons.

Video of the Day: There Will Be No 3-Peat

Here is the CBS intro from one of the all-time great playoff games. I’m a Montana fan but this was a fantastic game despite Leonard Marshall ending his career as a 49er.

Video of the Day: Schedule Day!

Yesterday was such a downer because of Harry Kalas’ death. At least today provides a brief glimpse of joy as the NFL releases it schedule tonight at 7pm on a variety of cable outlets. Today’s video homage is to the regular season game that sold me on the NFL. The year was 1989 and the San [...]

Favre Vs. History & the Table Theory of Evolution

Whenever someone retires, we often have a tendency to start proclaiming guys as the greatest this or the greatest that. In fact, watch any network with NFL analysts and they love to say “Brett Favre is the greatest thrower in the history of the league” or “no one in the history of the league played [...]

Kurt Warner Is A Hall of Famer…Period.

Kurt Warner is a Hall of Famer, period.  Hopefully this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Warner, but if it is…what a glorious ride it was. He wasn’t the number one overall pick in the draft or a quarterback with a pedigree from a BCS school. Instead, the Super Bowl XXXIV MVP proved once again [...]
