Well, when your team isn’t good just start fighting people. That’s exactly what Chicago’s Tommie Harris and Washington’s DeAngelo Hall did on Sunday. Roughly 65 seconds into their battle with the Arizona Cardinals, Harris punched Arizona offensive lineman Deuce Lutui in the head. The decision to eject Harris was rather easy for referee Ed Hoculi. Earlier this week, I discovered one of my friends, who is a big Carolina Panthers fan, made her way down to Charlotte, North Carolina to watch Eagles/Panthers. Prior to Sunday, the last Panther game she attended? That’s right, the 2008 NFC Divisional playoff game versus Arizona.

With Dan Orlovsky listed as the backup quarterback, the Texans decided to further bolster the quarterback position after starter Matt Schaub. After all, prior to the signing of former Bears quarterback Rex Grossman, the Texans were one hit away from a player who helped author an 0-16 season in Detroit.

After the controversial trade of former Denver quarterback Jay Cutler, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen took matters into his own hands by issuing a letter to season ticket holders. Bowlen’s basic message was simple. It’s about the team, not an individual player. This letter is perhaps why Bowlen is one of the league’s top owners.

The Jay Cutler era in Denver is kaput. Chicago delivered quarterback Kyle Orton, two first round picks (‘09 & ‘10) and a 2009 third round pick to the Broncos in exchange for Cutler and a fifth round pick in April’s draft.
